The Cadena Kids

The party was a hit

Kurt's 50th birthday party turned out great! Alot of people dressed in plaid or UPS uniforms, even Kurt's mom wore a cub scout uniform! Little Ethan wore a plaid jacket and shorts that Kurt wore in a picture when he was around 3. For those of you that don't know Kurt, he is infamous for digging through dumpsters to find stuff to make or refurbish. He told us at the party that he has never had to buy a lawnmower or a barbeque pit. So it was a fun surprise when he open a trash can that was wrapped and filled with things that came out of a garage cleaning. It really was a fun party, Kurt I hoped you had a great time! I'll post some pics of the party as soon as someone emails them to me. *hint hint*.

No poke please

Today I was going to get Ava a happy meal for lunch after I picked Tyler up from school since she and I had a late breakfast. Ty already had lunch at school so I normally just give him her drink because that's all he wants. I asked him if he wanted lemonaide today and his response was "Yes, I would like some wemomaide (lemonaide) but I don't like poke in my wemomaide". Turns out he doesn't like pulp in his lemonaide.

Remember Govel? For those who don't scroll down to number 14 on the list of Tyler's words. Well, now we have to buckle Govel into the car everytime we go somewhere. Tyler or I has to buckle the middle seatbelt in between the two car seats for Govel and then when we arrive somewhere we have to unbuckle it. Great, so now I have 3 kids, a little girl, a boy and an invinsible space man.

Time for a political rant

So what's this I hear that Bush is requesting $80 BILLION MORE for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Now we are all aware of our already HUGE deficit, but come on, isn't he going overboard here with this war? Oh wait, I forget, the war ended months ago! Come'on Bush, you can pull the wool over half of America, but not me. Let's just bring our troops home, we have lost enough lives. Let's put the $80B to something more productive and send it to Sri Lanka or to the starving people in Ethiopia or finding to a cure for cancer, now those are causes I can support. I am going to be frank here and I am apologizing to all my Bush loving fans reading, but I just have to say this. If you are going to get irriated with what I have to say then read no further. Okay THIRD AND FINAL warning.........I dont want any irrate emails or comments left, so this is the final warning to not read on if you are in support of the war in Iraq. I am all up for intelligent and senisible talks about politics, just as long as it is not irrate. OK, for those of you left, Let's be honest, after 9/11 Bush knew we would seek vengance, we were eager for it. So many lives were lost and on OUR turf. What a great time to take advantage of our pain and blame Saddam. Now I am in no way conveying that Saddam was a saint, we all know he was a real bastard. I can't say I breathe any easier knowing that he is probably getting a more fair trial than some of our minor offense crimanals here (and we wont even get into the fact that criminals with minor offenses are at times spending more time in prison than child molestors and murders, in a system that already has problems with overcrowding). I can't say I feel any safer than I did prior to his arrest. Back to what I was saying. Now first we went to Iraq to find weapons of mass destruction, oopsy, we couldn't find any! Oh wait, we can still be the hero, let's free the people! Ok, so Saddam is gone (or at least temporarily) and the people are "free" (to the best extent that they will ever be) and when the elections are over then what? What are we waiting for? Another American hostage begs for his life today and all we do is stand by and wait for him to be shot or beheaded. How sad is that? How about saving our own people and getting the hell out of there!!!

As for other things, Ava's new word is "wow". As I walked around a craft store today she wow'd everything. She also growls at anything that looks remotely live. She growls at bugs, teddy bears, birds, stuffed animals, ceramic frogs, its cute really, strange, but cute.

I Weally wish he could be here alreay

I was telling Mikey about Tyler's sleepover at my Dad's this weekend and apparently Ty overheard me and thought Papa was coming today to pick him up. The pest control guy that came was a sad disappointment...........

A knock at the door
"He's here, He's here!"
"Wait, that's not Papa! That's the spraybugger guy!"
"I weally wish he (Papa) could be here already"

I wonder if the "spraybugger guy" sensed Tyler's disappointment since Tyler didn't follow him from room to room this time.

And let me add another knock knock joke to our collection......

Knock Knock- Tyler
Who's there?- Me
Combin- Tyler
Combin who?- Me
Combin my hair!!!- Tyler

Let's hope he never gets started on blonde jokes, I could do without those (and Power Rangers)

Happy Birthday

I just wanted to wish Kurt a very happy 50th birthday! Happy Birthday Kurt and thank you for being everything that you are. Gloria couldnt have found anyone more perfect. Love you!

Mikey had like 40 meetings to go to this past weekend so on Saturday he took Tyler along while us gals stayed home. They went and watched Racing Stripes and apparently liked it. I guess Ava and I will have to wait until it comes out on DVD.

"I'm gonna have a sleepover at Papa's". Grandpa, Tyler is really excited to have his sleepover this weekend.

I remember being very young at my Grandparents house watching Johnny Carson. I loved when he had the animals on. He will be greatly missed.

Here we go again

So the last blog didnt work so well, not only could I not access it again but it lost the page I had already typed. So for those of you who didnt get around to it here we go again, as much as I can remember anyhow..........

chasing

Well, the first time I typed this it was only one month since my baby girl turned one. She has so much to say these days. She even signs! She signed milk the other day for the first time. The other day I asked her to go get a diaper and she looked at me and said "dapa?". I said yes. She turned around and went to the drawer where we keep the diapers and pulled one out and brought it to me! I couldnt believe she actually knew what I was saying!

Getting a diaper

Don't forget the wipes!

I trimmed her bangs the other day and about 1/2 an inch off the back, I was trying to get a pic of her new cut but the milk face is really what got me in this pic

chasing

Words she is saying now..........
Momma (my personal favorite)
Dadda (which is sometimes followed by her going to the front windows in our bedroom and lifting the blinds, repeat......over and over again)
Bubba
TyTy
Da (Dog)
dapa (diaper)
wawa (water)
ma (milk)
Momom (grandma)
Papa (Grandpa)
Baby
baba (her cup)
bath
bye bye
hi
no
ball
papa (if you ask her if she wants to eat, its followed by a papa papa papa)
luna
nigh nigh (night night)
ma (milk)
gogo (yogurt)
na (nose)
Boohbah
haaaa (hot, she says haaaa with her tongue hanging out of her mouth)

And I know there are more I can not think of right now. She is just so gorgeous and wonderful, I love her to pieces. Ty still adores her so much. He is an awesome big brother.

Tyler is, well, Tyler. He is all knowing and beautiful. He believes that crickets are green and grasshoppers are not. We got into a discussion today about it and let me give those of you who have not been blessed with one of these debates, give in, he will always win. I tried to explain to him tonight that he will miss out on some important lessons in life if he thinks he is always right, his response, "But I am always right". *sigh*

Now let me entertain you with some of Tyler's knock knock jokes................

Knock knock- Tyler
Who's there?- Rhobin
Later- Tyler
Later who?- Rhobin
Later, I am going bye bye!- Tyler

Ok so they dont always make sense but he is so darn cute!

Knock knock-Tyler
Who's there?- Rhobin
Hanger- Tyler
Hanger who?- Rhobin
Hanger clothes!- Tyler

Now this is followed by some bellowing fake laughter that in turn makes me crack up. Gotta love a guy that can laugh at himself! Now I have one final story to tell of Ty and I will move on. For those of you who read the last blog this same story was in there too so you can scroll down.

Now let me first start by saying that Ty had a little girl named Sara in his class last year that he said was his girlfriend. Well this year Sara is in a different class but it hasnt kept my little man from staying faithful. I went to pick him up from school the other day and realized they had done some artwork. We always review it once we get into the car. Todays artwork was special. The front reads, "Tyler is thankful for......", I open the card and read "mommy", thats a good thing, "daddy" and you think what is coming next dont you, Ava! Wrong! It reads "Sara"! I guess this is better than his turkey he did last year that said he was thankful for "mommy, daddy and pizza". I told him how beautiful his artwork was and he told me how beautiful Sara was and how he loves her long brown hair. He also said he likes to hold her hand during church. She's such a cutie. They make a cute couple...........

chasing

Tha'ts her (in the pink and purple) chasing him last year.

Mikey graduates in May!!!!!! I am so proud of him! I dont know how he does it but he deserves it and I hope to eventually follow in his footsteps. Now I said it once and I will say it again.........for the ladies reading, it is official, I have married the most wonderful loving husband in the world! Dont go and get a big head on me now Mikey! I love you babe and am so proud of you. How in the world did I get so lucky?

As for me, I am so focused on being a mom and with the business that I haven't time for much more. The business is going but I hope it picks up this year. Sara, a friend of mine from Canada was kind enough to redo my entire site for me in hopes that it brings more business in. Sarah, if you are reading, you are so special to me and thank you a thousand times! I just found out Sarah will be blessing me with her presense and her gorgeous son Jacob on March 13th! Jacob's site here . I am so excited!!!!!! I havent uploaded the new site yet but plan to very soon and will have a few new lamps and accessories added too. For those of you who have forgotton the site here it is.....Ava's Accents. Thanks for putting up with me and the horrible missing blog issue. Hopefully this is resolved now.

Love
Rhobin
